Notification Settings

Configure how and when Stock Sentry notifies you about inventory alerts.

How alerts flow through notification channels

Notification Channels

Email Notifications

  1. Navigate to Settings
  2. Enable "Email notifications"
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Choose severity levels and digest frequency

Format: Subject with severity + product list with stock levels + direct dashboard links.

Dashboard Notifications

Always enabled. Features real-time alert feed, badge counter, sortable list.

Slack Notifications

  1. Enable "Slack notifications" in Settings
  2. Enter your Slack webhook URL
  3. Choose channels per severity level

Get your webhook: Slack API > Create app > Incoming Webhooks.

Critical alerts always send immediately and cannot be disabled.

Recommended Settings

Active Monitoring:

  • Critical: Email (immediate) + Dashboard
  • Urgent: Email (immediate) + Dashboard
  • Warning: Dashboard only

Team Collaboration:

  • Critical: Email + Slack + Dashboard
  • Urgent: Slack + Dashboard
  • Warning: Dashboard only

Managing Alerts

Snooze: Click alert > Snooze > Choose duration (1-7 days). Alert stays visible but won't notify.

Dismiss: Click alert > Dismiss. Moves to Alert History.

Unsubscribe: Click link in any email, or disable in Settings.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving emails?

  • Check spam folder
  • Add alerts@stocksentry.retailforge.app to safe senders
  • Verify email address in Settings
  • Check if daily limit reached

Slack not working?

  • Verify webhook URL starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/
  • Test using "Send Test Notification"
  • Check channel permissions

Wrong timezone?

Settings > Digest Schedule > Select correct timezone > Save
